Trade Account Terms
OFTY (Office Furniture To You)
At OFTY (Office Furniture To You), we work with businesses, schools, healthcare organisations, public-sector bodies, contractors and other organisations throughout the UK.
Our Trade Account service is designed to make purchasing office furniture easier, with competitive pricing, dedicated support, quotation services and credit facilities available to approved customers.
Whether you’re furnishing a single office, completing a full workplace refurbishment or purchasing furniture regularly across multiple locations, our team is here to help.
1. TRADE ACCOUNT ELIGIBILITY
OFTY Trade Accounts are available to UK organisations including:
- Limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Schools, colleges and universities
- NHS organisations and healthcare providers
- Local authorities and other public-sector organisations
- Charities
- Contractors, facilities management companies and property professionals
- Other approved commercial organisations
All applications are subject to approval by OFTY. We reserve the right to decline an application or request additional information before opening an account.
2. TRADE PRICING & QUOTATIONS
Approved Trade Account customers may receive preferential pricing based on product, quantity, order value and ongoing purchasing requirements.
Planning a larger project? Send us your quotation or product requirements and we’ll do our best to beat a genuine like-for-like quote.
Any price-match or quotation comparison is subject to product specification, quantity, delivery location, installation requirements, availability and the terms offered by the competing supplier.
All quotations are subject to availability and remain valid for the period stated on the quotation.
3. CREDIT ACCOUNTS
Credit facilities may be available to approved Trade Account customers and are subject to status and credit approval.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, approved credit accounts will operate on 30-day payment terms from the invoice date.
OFTY may carry out appropriate business or credit checks when considering an application and may set a credit limit appropriate to the account.
We reserve the right to increase, reduce, suspend or withdraw a credit facility where reasonably necessary, including where an account becomes overdue.
Schools, NHS organisations, local authorities and other established public-sector organisations may be eligible to purchase using an authorised Purchase Order, subject to approval.
4. PURCHASE ORDERS
Where purchasing by Purchase Order has been agreed, a valid PO must be supplied before an order can be processed.
The Purchase Order should clearly state the organisation name, billing address, delivery address, PO number, products or quotation reference and authorised order value.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the person submitting the Purchase Order has authority to place the order on behalf of the organisation.
5. PAYMENT
Invoices must be paid within the payment terms agreed when the Trade Account is opened or as otherwise confirmed by OFTY in writing.
Payments should be made in Pounds Sterling (GBP) using one of the payment methods accepted by OFTY.
If an account becomes overdue, OFTY may temporarily place the account on hold and suspend further orders or deliveries until outstanding amounts have been settled.
We reserve our statutory rights in relation to overdue commercial payments, including the right to claim interest and reasonable recovery costs where applicable under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
6. ORDERS & ACCEPTANCE
Submitting an order, Purchase Order or accepting an OFTY quotation constitutes an offer to purchase the specified goods.
Orders are subject to product availability and acceptance by OFTY.
Where products are manufactured, configured or ordered specifically for a customer — including particular sizes, colours, finishes or configurations — cancellation may not be possible once the order has entered production or been placed with the manufacturer.
We recommend checking all dimensions, finishes, quantities and specifications carefully before approving an order.
7. DELIVERY
OFTY offers delivery throughout the UK, with a large selection of products held in UK stock for fast dispatch.
Any delivery date or lead time provided is an estimate unless OFTY has expressly confirmed a guaranteed delivery date in writing.
Customers must ensure that suitable access is available at the delivery address and advise us in advance of any restrictions, including stairs, restricted vehicle access, loading restrictions or unusual delivery requirements.
Additional charges may apply where a delivery cannot be completed due to incorrect information or unsuitable access.
8. INSTALLATION
Where installation has been included within your quotation, our delivery and installation teams will assemble and position furniture in accordance with the agreed project requirements.
The customer must ensure that the premises are safe, accessible and ready for installation on the agreed date.
Any additional work requested outside the agreed scope may be chargeable.
9. OFFICE PLANNING & CAD DESIGN
OFTY can provide workplace measurement, space planning, floorplans and CAD design services for office refurbishment and furniture projects.
Plans and drawings are intended to assist with furniture specification and workspace planning.
Customers remain responsible for confirming final dimensions and informing OFTY of any structural, electrical, fire-safety, accessibility or building-related requirements that may affect the proposed layout.
10. DAMAGES & SHORTAGES
Customers should inspect deliveries as soon as reasonably possible.
Any visible damage, missing products or discrepancies should be reported to OFTY promptly, ideally with photographs of the item and packaging, so that we can investigate and arrange an appropriate resolution.
Products must not be assembled or installed where obvious transit damage is present unless advised otherwise by OFTY.
11. RETURNS
Returns are subject to OFTY’s standard Returns Policy.
Bespoke, made-to-order, specially sourced or customer-configured products may not be eligible for return unless they are faulty or incorrectly supplied.
Any return must be authorised by OFTY before goods are sent back.
12. OWNERSHIP OF GOODS
Risk in goods passes to the customer upon delivery.
Where goods have been supplied on credit, ownership of the goods remains with OFTY until payment for those goods has been received in full, to the extent permitted by law.
13. ACCOUNT RESPONSIBILITY
Trade Account holders are responsible for purchases placed by authorised members of their organisation.
Please notify OFTY promptly if an employee who previously had purchasing authority leaves your organisation or should no longer be permitted to place orders.
The account holder is responsible for keeping its company, billing, delivery and contact information up to date.
14. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION OR CLOSURE
OFTY reserves the right to suspend or close a Trade Account where payment is overdue; the agreed credit limit has been exceeded; false or misleading information has been provided; the account is being misused; or we reasonably believe the customer’s ability to meet its financial obligations has materially changed.
Customers may request closure of their Trade Account once all outstanding invoices have been settled.
15. OUR STANDARD TERMS
These Trade Account Terms should be read alongside OFTY’s general Terms & Conditions, Delivery Policy, Returns Policy and Privacy Policy.
Where specific terms have been agreed in writing as part of a quotation, contract or project, those specific terms will apply to that order where they differ from these general Trade Account Terms.
16. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
OFTY may update these Trade Account Terms from time to time. Any updated terms will apply to future orders from the date they are published or otherwise communicated to the account holder.
17. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction in relation to disputes arising from them, subject to any applicable mandatory legal rights.
